#Mood 💃🏾 Sis, guess what. This time n #Mood 💃🏾

Sis, guess what. This time next week I’ll be out of the house and in full self-care mode. I am finally getting away (kinda).

If you know me, you know I love to travel. I cannot sit still, and not being able (or not feeling comfortable enough) to travel has kept me in the house for the last 10 months.

Well, I planned myself a staycation. I got the idea from sister, who planned a self-care weekend for herself a few weeks back. It’s a weekend full of doing nice things for yourself, such as getting your nails done, getting a massage, buying yourself something nice, etc. while getting outside of your daily environment.

2020 was a lot. Living during a pandemic is a lot. Adulting in general is a lot. I was in desperate need of finding a way to treat myself and get away, while also keeping it COVID friendly. Can you relate? So I settled on a staycation.

While I’m super excited for next weekend’s adventure, I still can’t help to feel a little nervous and uneasy about staying in a hotel room or getting a massage for the first time in a while.

Have you traveled yet? How was your experience? Any tips for traveling during a pandemic? How are you balancing staying in a good mental space while maintaining good COVID-practices? Comment down below and let me know!

I can’t wait to go on this journey and share my experience with each of you ✨
*insert some cheesy quote about it being Friday* 💃🏾

Cheers to the weekend y’all 🥂 What do you have planned this weekend? It’s raining here all weekend, which means binge-watching a good show while curled up on my couch 💆🏾‍♀️ What are you currently watching? Comment down below and share a few suggestions!
Hi, my name is Atiana and I’m terrible at taking Hi, my name is Atiana and I’m terrible at taking my own advice 🙈

I’ve spent most of these last two weeks writing about self-care, not overworking yourself, prioritizing rest, and taking time off. Yet, here I am burnt out and exhausted in the worst possible way.

As I was writing about all these things, I was doing the exact opposite. These last two weeks have looked like:

❌ Staying up late to finish work, so only getting 5-6 hours of sleep each night 🛏

❌ Not prioritizing my physical health, so little exercise and a lot of junk food 😷

❌ Thinking I don’t deserve rest and continuing to push my body when it’s begging to rest, so lack of clarity and lots of mental fogginess 😭

I say this to say, choose to rest or your body will do it for you 🙃 My body forced me to sit down today, and I’m finally listening (I also don’t have a choice lol).

Let this serve as a reminder for you, sis. Stop overworking yourself and your body. It’s okay to rest. It’s okay to put something off until tomorrow. It’s okay to show yourself grace. At the end of the day, it’s about what’s best for you - mentally, physically, and emotionally ✨
Yesterday I did something I haven’t done in mont Yesterday I did something I haven’t done in months. I read.

I didn’t create yesterday. I simply read once I got home for work and it was so refreshing.

One of my goals this year is to read at least 6 books this year. I usually set a goal for 12 books, but the way life is set up 😅 it never happens so I set a more attainable goal this year (growth lol).

I could have easily put off starting (well, restarting) my book yesterday, but this year I’m no longer procrastinating and reprioritizing what’s important to me. Yesterday I finally committed to starting one of my goals for the year.

Sometimes it’s okay to not do what we feel like we have to do to do what we want to do. It’s about balance and showing ourselves grace ✨

What goal have you been putting off, sis?

Stop waiting for someday and start now. Time waits for no one and before we know it next year will be here. I won’t us to look back on this year and be proud of the work we did and what we accomplished. This week I encourage you to start working towards that goal. Comment “I’m ready” if you’re committed to starting this week 🌻
Take what you need when you need it, sis 🌻

Do what’s best for you unapologetically.

If you need rest, then rest sis.

If you want to work, then work. If you want to take that trip, then take the trip.

Do you sis, and have no regrets about it 💁🏾‍♀️

Remember it’s okay to say no. It’s okay to to not answer the phone. It’s okay to disconnect and unplug for a little while. It’s absolutely okay to do absolutely nothing if you want.

This life is yours, and yours only. We only get one, make sure you spend yours doing what you want to do when you want to do it.

Decide what you need in this moment, sis, and do it 🌻
Use that PTO, sis 🌻 . . . Here’s Use that PTO, sis 🌻
.
.
.
Here’s your weekly reminder to do what’s best for you!

Story Time: I hate taking days off. It takes me weeks to finally come to terms with putting in a PTO request. It literally has to be on my mind for days and it’s a constant battle between “I really need the time off?” and “Do I really deserve to take this time off?”

Well, sis.

I finally took time off last Monday and I have zero regrets.

Last Monday, I was granted the opportunity to do something I hadn’t done since last April. My dad came into town and we grabbed lunch. It sounds so simple but it was honestly the highlight of my year because for the first time in a while I got to spend some quality, uninterrupted time with my dad 💙

Time waits for no one. We live in a very fast-paced world and in a blink of an eye, months can go by and you haven’t stopped to do something simple as eating lunch with a family member or friend.

If I hadn’t taken that time off, I think it would have been months before my dad and I sat down for lunch together.

Take that time, sis, and go do something you haven’t had the chance to do recently. The work can wait, and it most definitely will be there when you get back.

When’s the last time you took some time off? How do you usually spend you off days? This week I challenge you to submit a PTO request (or two) 😉
Done is better than perfect ✨ Stop strivi Done is better than perfect ✨

Stop striving for perfection and just get it done, sis!

How are you pushing yourself closer to achieving your goals this weekend? Are you taking time off to rest and recharge or are you working on a few things today? Comment down below and let me know 💕
