Happy Sunday, Wanderers!
It’s officially May, which means it’s my favorite time of the year (next to Christmas, of course).
May is the time for all things new for me.
I absolutely love May because it typically means I’m about to begin a new chapter. It’s my birthday month (#teamtaurus), and for the past few years, it also means graduation. In 2018, I earned my undergraduate degree from FSU (#goNoles!). This year, I’ll be graduating again, but this time from UNC (#goHeels!). As of May 9th, I will officially have #MASTEREDit! Yay! May always seems to bring all the feels and good vibes for me, so I look forward to it every year.
I must admit though, the weeks leading up to May, I was a mess. I was very upset and not looking forward to it at all. This is not how I expected my May to look, but #BigRona had other plans clearly. I was very disappointed that everything was seemingly ruined-from my birthday plans to celebrating my graduation with family and friends to finally some much-needed trips to see my friends I haven’t seen all year because of school and clinical placement. I was crushed, you hear me? And to be honest, I still am. BUT…
We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand.

Every day I am learning to make the best out of a not so great situation, and listen, this is a challenge. I am choosing to still make this May the best one yet. While my celebrations and plans will look a little different, there is no reason why they still should not happen.
Whatever your plans were for this month-whether it was a graduation or a wedding, maybe a birthday or a special trip-I know it’s hard, but try no to let the disappointment of our new normal get you down. Create that post-#BigRona bucket list, but also find a new and fulfilling way to celebrate those things now. It’s time for us to get really creative!
Now, I know that is not the purpose of this post, but would it really be a Twenty post without some sort of inspiration. No, it wouldn’t!
Now, let’s get back into these favorites…
It’s finally May, which means it’s a new month and it’s time for me to recap my favorite products from last month. I hope you’re as excited as I am!
RightRice
I stumbled across this product on Instagram. One of my favorite influencers filmed herself cooking it one night and I’ve been sold ever since. If you’re a carb-lover like me but carbs don’t always sit well with your body, then you definitely want to try this out! This has been a game-changer for my meal-preps and I always try to keep a few packets in my cabinets. They have several flavors, but I’ve only tried the original and I love it! Try it out and let me know how you like! P.S., for a week’s worth of meal preps I only use 2 packets!
Mason Jars by Ball
I randomly picked these up at Walmart because why not? But they have honestly been a life-saver for me. I use one every day to drink water out of. While I am sitting and working away at my desk, I just fill one up and leave the lid off because I like using my metal straw with it. I also use these for my meal preps, such as my overnight oats. I’ve also heard these are great for salads on the go, but I haven’t tried it yet! They are super functional and can be used for any and everything!
Bite Beauty: Agave+ Weekly Lip Scub & Daytime Lip Balm
So I recently moved out of my apartment in NC and I randomly stumbled across a sample packet of this product and this one as well. I decided to use them and listen, they got these lips all the way together. If you’re like me and struggle with dry and chapped lips occasionally, you definitely want to purchase these two products. I use the balm throughout the day whenever my lips are feeling dry, but I only use the scrub maybe 1-2x a week and typically at night before bedtime. My lips were noticeably soft after one use. Also, I love this balm because it’s not too greasy and it’s thick enough to last for a few hours.
Mama Lupe: Low Carb Tortillas
Yep, you probably guessed it. I have yet another food item. Listen, we’re in the house so I have a lot of time to try out new foods/cook. I found this product through Instagram (surprise, surprise). This product is a great substitute for those days you really want some carbs but don’t want the feeling you get after you eat a bunch of carbs. This product is great for your next #TacoTuesday. While I haven’t used it for tacos yet, I’ve been loving the quick quesadillas I’ve been making with them. Sidebar: If you want the recipe to my quick and easy chicken quesadillas, comment down below and let me know! I pair my quesadillas with a side of sour cream, salsa, and guacamole and it is literally the best mid-day snack!
Epic Fab Girl: Go-Getter Confidential Digital Summit
Okay, last but certainly not least…y’all, listen. I could not do this post without mentioning the one thing that got my life together last month. From day 1 this conference took me by my collar and got me all the way together. If you don’t get anything else from this post, please get the replay of this conference. It’s only available until May 8th, so you definitely don’t want to sleep on this.
This was an online digital summit sponsored by Epic Fab Girl that was completely FREE! I’m telling yall, yall should follow me on Instagram because I shared this on my story a week or so ago. It featured 20+ speakers who sought out to help women grow their audience, build their businesses & make money online. Topics ranged from “Branding and Getting Started,” “Income and Monetization,” “Launching Digital Products,” and so much more! If you’re thinking about entrepreneurship or just need motivation to stop playing scared and go after what you want while keeping God at the center of everything, please don’t miss out on this gem.
This conference lit a fire in me that died a while ago. I have never been more motivated to take Twenty to the next level and serve y’all in ways I could never have imagined. It taught me things such as to stop playing it safe, there’s no hurt in just trying something out, and it’s okay to fail. It was so inspiring to hear the wins and losses of other entrepreneurs, how they got to where they are now, and receive a plethora of resources from them. It’s good yall. Really, really, really good.
That’s a wrap for April, y’all!
Let me know if you try out any of these products. I always love to hear your feedback-good or bad-on all the products I recommend. As always, I love each and every one of you and I hope you and all of your loved ones are safe and in good health.
xoxo,
