Meaning Behind your Name:
I would like to think my mom put great thought into my name, BUT she simply reversed her name, Anita, and added an extra ‘A’ to make Atiana lol.
Birthday and Zodiac Sign:
May 6th, Taurus
The best of the best. Don’t debate me. & yes. I’m v. stubborn and strong-willed, but definitely practical and reliable. I can’t imagine being born on another day, in another month or being a different sign.
Favorite Movie:
Y’all know I struggle with just picking one thing, so here are my top three:
Cinderella – Rodgers & Hammerstein’s only
Annie – 1, 2 and 3 – If I had to rank them it would be 2 (1999), 1 (1982) and then 3 (2014) but I love all three nonetheless.
Lion King – 1, 1 ½, and 2 – Also, I’m kindly accepting tickets to see the live-action one releasing in 2019 lol. Thanks in advance!
Undergraduate Institution & Major:
THE Florida State University (GO ‘Noles!), Communication Science & Disorders
Graduate Institution & Program:
The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go Heels!), Speech Langauge Pathology #SLP2Be
Biggest Fear:
Again, I couldn’t just pick one lol.
Heights
Drowning – I love water and I love going to the beach whenever I can BUT I stay within my limits though.
What makes you happy?
Food – Duh lol
Being around my family and my friends – They really get me and keep me grounded.
Helping and seeing people accomplish their goals and begin to walk in their purpose – Although I am competitive, I genuinely want all of us to do and find what makes us healthy and #eat. There’s no reason why we can’t all “make it.”
Face masks – I live for a good face mask. I will happily give up going out to stay home do a good face mask and sip on some wine. Also, if anyone wants to buy me a Christmas gift, just get me a couple face masks lol. Sidebar: You can see some of my favorite masks here.
Favorite Food:
Shrimp – Give me a meal with shrimp (and mushrooms) in it and I’m a happy girl
Peach Cobbler – I’m a true southern girl and when I tell you my peach cobbler is unmatched, please believe me.
Favorite Color:
Purple – I don’t wear purple like ever but I would consider it my favorite color.
Mint Green – Also I don’t wear it but I love it as an accent color for my house.
Most Embarrassing Moment:
In middle (maybe high) school, I was a cheerleader and we were cheering at one of the games. The ground was soaking wet but I had it. I was feeling good and I know I looked good. We were doing the run through (like when the players run through the banner) and all was going well.
“Whooo, go team. Yeah, let’s go!”
You know the usual cheers and chants lol. As I was running back to the sideline, mid-stride my foot slipped on the wet grass and I bust my behind in front of everyone. Like cue record scratch because everything just stopped at that moment. Yep. Let’s move on. I’m still recovering from it.
Travel Memory:
I have two scars on my right leg, I call them my travel scars. I was in Spain a couple of summers ago and tried to be cute.
Yeah lol you already know it’s about to be good.
I was running up the escalator (honestly looking back on it, it was for no good reason). Anyway back to the story, as I was running (mind you I was also in flip-flops) up the escalator, my flip-flop got stuck and I tripped. Hard too. Boom. Everyone looks and starts laughing.
Also, they were definitely speaking Spanish so I didn’t have the slightest clue what they were saying.
My feelings were HURT boy. Okay, back to the scars.
So I got the scars because the metal of the escalator pierced my skin, the cuts were pretty nasty and to top all of this I still had to walk back to my hotel leaking blood. Blood was literally running down my leg. I’m certain my blood is still on the sidewalks of Barcelona lol.
What are you most likely doing on a Saturday night?
In my house, on my couch under a cozy blanket with my candles lit watching a movie and sipping a nice, tall glass of wine. I feel like I’ve said this before but honestly, this is me.
Something you can’t live without?
*Someone
My mom. Hey girl because I know you’re reading lol. She’s literally my rock and it’s been great being able to do life with her. I know everyone says their mom is the best but honestly yall are lying (sorry not sorry), no one can’t match Anita I promise. She is superwoman, literally every woman, and I hope one day I can be just half the woman she is.
What or who motivates you?
You. Whoever you are, wherever you are, you are my motivation. To know that there are people in the world that like what I am saying and feel inspired by my words are all the motivation I need. Each view, like and comment keeps me going. I know it sounds cliche but I honestly mean it. I appreciate each and every one of y’all.
One thing you enjoy doing?
Reading – when I have time
Once the semester ends, I’ll be reading Becoming and 20 Something 20 Everything
One thing you don’t enjoy doing?
Waking up early. It’s soooooo hard. Listen I set like 10 alarms, no joke because it takes me that long to wake up.
If you’re going to the mall randomly, what are you most likely walking out with?
Makeup – Whether it’s new foundation or a new brush. I wrote a blog post on my holy grail makeup here.
Skincare – Any and everything from face wash to toner to a face mask. I want it all. I wrote about all of my favorite skincare products here.
Clothes – I mean you can never have too many clothes right?
Best memory of 2018 so far?
Graduating. Words can’t express how much that weekend meant to me. To have all of my family there from both sides of my family AND my bestest friends meant the world to me. Also, the next day was my birthday so I got to celebrate my day with all of my family and friends. That memory is unmatched and my heart smiles every time I think about it. It was a great weekend!
Best Date:
Uhhh, I don’t think I’ve been on a really great date. They’ve all been okay but nothing really stands out right now.
Worst Date:
L O L. Which one? So I met this guy and we agreed to go out later that day. Well, I let him pick the place because you know just wanted to feel him out and see what type of vibe he was on, you know? Tell me why we went to a bar and I’ve been to a lot of bars but I was just not a fan of this. Honestly, I spent the night yelling across a table at him because it was so loud and he couldn’t hear me.
Moral of the story: ALWAYS pick the location lol. But more importantly, don’t go to the bar for a first date, especially not one where the music is blasting and y’all want to get to know each other. Why I gotta leave the date with my throat hurting and my voice half gone.
If you could tell your younger self one thing, what would it be?
You are enough.
Don’t ever doubt your worth. Never settle for less than what you deserve and be sure to add tax.
The limit does not exist. Go after any and everything your heart desires. Don’t be afraid either, just do it and worry about the rest later.
Biggest lesson life has taught you thus far?
I can’t do anything without God. Y’all that man is whewwwwww. I can go on and on about him, he’s that good. But I’m going to leave it at that and if you don’t know, try him.
So now that y’all know me a little more, comment down below your answer to one of the questions.
