Fridays are for pizza, wine, and binge watching a Fridays are for pizza, wine, and binge watching a good show on Netflix.

As a child, Friday nights were always pizza and movie night. I remember looking forward to getting home from school so we could go to Blockbuster and pick out our weekend movies.

Am I showing my age by mentioning Blockbuster 😅

Never thought these seemingly small moments in my childhood would be the things I look forward to the most as an adult.

What childhood tradition do you still continue as an adult? Do you have Friday night traditions? Comment down below and let me know!
Are you struggling to find balance between your 9 Are you struggling to find balance between your 9 to 5 and side hustle? Or maybe even your 9 to 5 and life in general? Keep reading 👇🏾

In life we always hear about “balance” and how life is all about finding “balance.” Well sis, I’m here to tell you that’s a myth.

Balance doesn’t exist.

When I looked up the definition of balance it read: “balance is having the right amount - not too much or not too little - of any quality, which leads to harmony and evenness.

Most of us wear multiple hats each day from daughters to moms to partners/spouses to employees to business owners. That’s a lot 🤯

We would like to think we can create a life where we equally do all the things well all the time. That’s impossible. No matter how hard we try, we can’t give all aspects of our life 100% of us all the time, something is going to suffer. For example, we may be able to give our business 100%, but undoubtedly our social life or relationships may suffer. You can’t do it all sis all the time.

Last year I spent so much time trying to be good at everything all the time that I burned myself out. I burned myself out so much that I had to disconnect and “put down” several of my hats for an extended period of time.

I don’t want that for you. Instead of seeking balance, sis, use the idea of seasons 🌻

I learned the idea of seasons from @jessmmassey last year and it changed the game for me. P.S. go listen to her podcast now 💕

When you stop seeking balance, and start operating in seasons, you’re choosing an area of primary focus. Whether it’s your relationships, business, or even you personally, you’re choosing one thing to make your priority for whatever length of time you set.

You may have one season, such as when you’re starting a new job that takes up a lot of your time + energy. That’s okay. Focus on learning that job and getting comfortable in it for as long as you need to. Once you become more comfortable in your role, then you can switch your “hat” and enter a new season.

Mood all day today 💁🏾‍♀️ Heyyyyyy Mad Mood all day today 💁🏾‍♀️

Heyyyyyy Madame VP 💕💚

Y’all. It’s been a long time coming. I feel pretty damn unstoppable today, just knowing we made it through the last four years 🌚

While we’re still a long ways from being “okay,” let’s enjoy today and celebrate this win.

So family, how are we celebrating today? What are we wearing to the living room today? Are we doing election night white or cute and casual statement tees 👀 Comment down below and let me know!
Sis, stop holding yourself back focusing on what y Sis, stop holding yourself back focusing on what you don’t have.⠀
⠀
“I’ll be able to _____ once ____ happens”⠀
⠀
“I’ll be _______ once ______ happens”⠀
⠀
“If only I had ______ then I could ______”⠀
⠀
Trust me, we’ve all said one of these at some point throughout this journey. It’s okay, but we’re silencing those limiting beliefs starting now.⠀
⠀
You’re holding yourself back waiting on these things to happen. Imagine how far you could be by the time the thing you’re praying for happens. Stop wasting time.⠀
⠀
2021 is the year of productivity. This year we’re doing what we can with what we currently have.⠀
⠀
You more than likely already have what it takes, so start believing in yourself. You got this, sis ✨
Unpopular Opinion: The grind does stop 🙃 Unpopular Opinion: The grind does stop 🙃

Sis, we are not overworking ourselves this year. We left burning ourselves out in 2020. This year we are working SMARTER, not harder.

So what does burn out look like:

❌ Exhaustion

❌ Low Motivation

❌ Mental Fatigue + Feeling “Foggy”

❌ Detachment

❌ Irritability

How to avoid burn out:

🌻 Track your stress and find ways to reduce it

🌻 Consistent, intentional self-care

🌻 Take time away

🌻 Rest

🌻 Disconnect

This year we’re resting when we need to and working when we can. Rest is a necessity, not a reward ✨

Be sure to schedule some intentional time to rest this week, and really rest sis.

What does rest look like for you? Comment down below and let me know! For me it’s a glass of wine, a good movie, my comfy pajamas, and a face mask 🍷
If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans If you want to make God laugh, tell him your plans.

Listen. I’m a planner. Every detail of my life has been planned out.

I like to know what’s ahead and prepare for any and all possibilities.

Can you relate?

But I realized my dreams, my plans, my goals were small, safe, and honestly, laughable compared to what God has planned for me. Hence, today’s picture 🙃

Sis, what aspect of your life do you have completely planned out?

That’s a cute and great job.

BUT it’s time to put the pen and sticky notes up and go consult the Master.

Remember Jeremiah 29:11 🌻

I get it. It’s scary not knowing and not being in control. Trust me I get it.

But also trust in Him. Let him blow your mind. Stop playing it safe and let God take control. I promise you won’t regret it.

Mood for 2021: Sitting back and watching God work His magic ✨
