The Accessory You Need This Holiday Season

Happy Sunday, Wanderers!

I’m going to keep this very short and sweet because if you’re like me, you are running short on time and are probably running around looking for a New Year’s Eve outfit.

Sidebar: My friends are the queens of last-minute plans and just when I think I have packed enough for any and every possible event, they manage to throw me a curveball and I still end up in someone’s store trying to piece an outfit together. IT. NEVER. FAILS.

Okay, back to the content….It wouldn’t be a post if I didn’t include a small rant right?

The one accessory you need to bring together your NYE outfit is….a red lip.

I know, I know, red lips are bold, daring, and often scary but recently they have been my go-to and always seal the deal. (The deal being my outfit of course). Red lips bring a certain level of confidence and fun that I love. I must admit it took me a while to master the red lip, no matter which shade or brand I would try they just did not look good on me. Well that was until I found the secret…

The secret to getting the perfect red lip is a good lip liner. I typically gravitate towards a brown lip liner, specifically Chestnut. Find you a good lip liner, whether it’s something close to your skin complexion to help tone done the intensity of the red lip or a red lip liner to intensify the red hue, and you’ll create the perfect red lip.

Here are my three favorite red lips this season:

What is your go-to red lipstick? Do you love a good red lip or do you gravitate towards something a little different? Maybe it’s a deep dark hue or maybe something bright and vibrant. Comment down below and let me know! If you try any of these lipsticks for New Year’s, be sure to post a picture on social media and tag Twenty (@twentywandering).

Happy New Years, Wanderers!

  1. I have always had difficulty finding a red lipstick that works for me. I typically wear shades of pink or something dark. Thanks for the suggestions. If I decide to try any and find one I love, I will be sure to let you know.
